The three-day Microsoft Build 2023 event took place on May 25, 2023, where the software giant made many Artificial Intelligence-related announcements. Microsoft announced to bring its Bing to ChatGPT by OpenAI, allowing the AI-powered chatbot to have a search engine for providing timelier and updated answers from the web. It also launched the Bing plugin to give free users new experiences soon. Microsoft also announced to make Bing Chat widgets available for Android devices.
According to a blog post shared by Microsoft Bing, the company has confirmed the launch of a new Bing Chat widget for Android to enable users to add the AI-powered chatbot to their mobile or desktop’s Home screen. Users who do not already have the app on their device will need to download it from the web or Google Play Store. Once you have Microsoft Bing on your device, you can choose the Bing icon to initiate the chat with an AI-powered chatbot.
Steps to Use Microsoft Bing Chat Widget on Your Android Device
Microsoft widgets aim to let users customize their Home Screens to reach their desired content quickly. Android users can follow these steps to include Bing Chat widgets in their Home Screen. First, they need to touch the Home Screen and hold a vacant space. Choose Widgets, tap, and grasp the desired widget. It will show some pictures of Home Screens. Now, slide the Chat Widget where it needs to be on the home screen and remove your finger.
Resizing a Microsoft Bing Chat widget
Besides adding Microsoft Bing widgets, Android users can also resize them according to their choice. First, they will tap and grasp the chat widget on the Home screen. Once you remove your finger from the Home Screen, if your desired widget is resizable, it will appear with a dotted outline on the sides. Drag the dotted outline to resize the chosen widget. Finally, tap outside the resized widget when done.
