One of the latest gaming headsets to be introduced by JBL is the Quantum 910 Wireless, which has a price tag of $299. Does it offer you value for money? Let’s find out.
Design and features
You will find a number of frills in the JBL Quantum 910 wireless gaming headset that are expected from a product with its price tag. It is packed in velvet carrying bag and comes with a number of accessories. There is a 3.5mm audio cable, a Type-C charging cable and also a 2.4GHz wireless dongle for facilitating a wireless-latency wireless connection. Woven nylon has been used for the cables to give them a sophisticated touch.
The build quality of the Quantum 910 wireless is pretty average because it has an all-plastic body, so it will not give you the premium feel. But, the use of plastic is better than metal because it can help in reducing the weight of the headset. However, the headset is certainly not lightweight at 420g and the aesthetics do not impress at first glance.
You will find a range of settings on the headband slider and it can fit a broad variety of head sizes. The earcups hinge’ is just the right combination of flexible and firm and they can be fully rotated. There is an ANC button on the left cup and there are two dials, one for volume control and the other for game audio-chat balance. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack, mute button and charging port on the same cup.
Software
The software that accompanies the headset is the JBL Quantum Engine, which is quite helpful and can have a significant impact on your gaming experience. It has an intuitive, smooth and clean interface. There are equalizer settings on the app with preset profiles, but you also have the option of customizing the settings.
The app also has lighting settings that can be used for customizing the earcups’ RGB zones. You can choose the tempo and colors for the notch, ring, logoand also create several lighting profiles. The app also provides information about headset volume and battery status and can also be used for tweaking the mic volume, mic sidetoneas well as the game chat/audio balance. But, the most exciting feature is the availability of spatial sound options, as there are multiple ones you can choose from.
Performance
You will find that the Quantum 910 wireless headset offers excellent sound. Layering has also been enhanced significantly due to the proprietary sound of JBL. When it comes to head tracking, JBL has done a great job because it is not too dramatic or underwhelming; it hits the sweet spot. You can enjoy focused, clear and crisp sound and it does not sound too tinny or sharp for that matter.
Theearcups have thick memory foam, which make the headset a comfortable fit. Their thickness also helps in ensuring noise isolation, even if you do not turn on the ANC feature.
The Verdict
Thanks to the brilliant gaming experience and excellent sound offered by the Quantum 910 Wireless, it is certainly worth the price tag.
