Tribit FlyBuds C1 – Review

Tribit has been busy coming up with high-performance and innovative audio devices since 2017 and doing so at prices that can give their competitors an excellent challenge. The Chinese company has now introduced the FlyBuds C1 to compete with Apple’s AirPodsand they are available for half the latter’s price.

Design

Durability and solidity are the two impressions that you will get from the design of the FlyBuds C1 and this is exactly what you want in mid-range headphones. The shape of the casing and the wireless headphones is similar to AirPods, but they are a bit thicker. The case is oval and slightly textured, so it will not slip from your hands. Both holes have a magnet for securing the earphones, which allows them to stay secure.

Ear tips of various sizes have been added by Tribitfor comfort purposes. They are comfortable to wear due to the silicone and do not fall out once you have found the right angle. Physical micro-buttons have been added to both earpieces that have direct haptic feedback. This enables you to manage calls and music playback, adjust the volume and activate voice assistant. The buttons can be found on the stem, which is very practical.

Connection

The FlyBud C1 connect to your computer or smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0 technology, AptX, AAC and SBC codec. It is easy to pair them and the connection also remains very stable. You can continue using them at a distance of eight meters. You only need to pair them once with your smartphone and they will connect automatically the next few times, so you will not have to adjust settings repeatedly.

Audio performance

According to Tribit, it has opted to use 4-microphone ENC as well as CVC 8.0 technology for reducing background noise. It is undoubtedly quite effective and you can use them easily, even in the noisiest places. The earphones have a very optimized, immersive and balanced sound, which is quite surprising, given the price. The bass is well-tuned and quite powerful, the highs remain clear and the midssound warm and soft.

As far as microphones are concerned, they produce distinct voices, but the noise reduction is not that effective in this situation. The Qualcomm QCC3040 aptX chip has been used in these earphones, which is the secret behind their good performance.

Battery life and charging

The advanced chip has allowed Tribit to reduce energy consumption by almost 30%. This means that with the case, you can use FlyBuds C1 for 60 hours. You can use the USB-C cable for recharging the case and it takes two hours. On a single charge, you can expect the earphones to last for about ten hours. This kind of battery life is undoubtedly superior to most top-of-the-range earphones in the market. You will find 4 small LED indicators on the case’s front that will alert you about the battery level of the earphones and case.
