A powerful laptop, the Asus Zenbook15 OLED is excellent for basic photo and office work, watching content and even for some light gaming. Even though it is not a budget laptop, it still does not have an exorbitant price. There is no dedicated GPU, but an external one can be connected via the USB4 port.
Design and build
The Zenbook 15 OLED both looks and feels thin. The keycaps, bezel and frame are all thin. It is also very lightweight at 1.4kg and while other lighter options do exist in the market, you can still carry this around easily. The device also feels quite sturdy and comes in dark blue, which feels refreshing as most laptops are usually the same black and silver.
The back is where the Asus ‘A’ logo can be seen and the hinge is a bit raised, which means the display lifts off the table, it is not as much as the previous models.
Ports and connectivity
Even though the dimensions are super-slim, Asus has been able to add more than a few ports here. There are two Type-C USB ports, an HDMI port and one Type-A USB 3.2 port. A 3.5mm audio jack is also available, but the mains adapter does not have any dedicated ports. The two USB-C ports can be used for power delivery, but they do not support Thunderbolt 4.
The USB4 port can be used for supporting wired connections with an Ethernet adapter. Wi-Fi 6E support is also added when you do not want a wired connection.
Display and speakers
The Asus Zenbook 15 comes with two display version, one being an OLED panel and the other an IPS LCD panel. The OLED boasts a 2880 x 1620 resolution and the brightness and rich contrast makes all content you view look amazing.
When it comes to speakers, those found in laptops are usually not very special, but Asus has opted for two Harman Kardonones and they give decent treble and bass. They are downward-firing, which means the desktop will muffle some sound.
Specs and performance
You have the choice between two processors for the Asus Zenbook 15 OLED, which are AMD Ryzen 7 7735U and AMD Ryzen 5 7535U. You can choose between 16 or 32GB RAM and storage of 512GB or 1TB.
When it comes to doing everyday tasks, you will find that the laptop remains smooth as butter. Moreover, even though it is not a gaming laptop, the Zenbook15 OLED lets you play games even without dedicated graphics. The fans will eventually kick in and they are not exactly quiet. It gives average battery life, but it depends on what you are doing. If you are doing anything demanding, it is going to go down fast. But, it does charge up quickly.
The Verdict
In almost every way, the Asus Zenbook 15 OLED comes off as fantastic, with the only real complaint you will have is with its battery life. As long as you have the charger, it should not be a problem.
