Back in 2020, when the G Pro X Superlight had first been launched by Logitech, it had become an instant success due to its flawless wireless performance, versatile shape and its weight. Three years, its successor has finally been launched and it is an iterative update on its predecessor.
Design
When you put the Superlight and Superlight 2 together, it will be difficult to tell them apart from each other. They share the same shape and this design works for most grip styles and hands. In addition, the Superlight 2 is only three grams lighter than its predecessor at 60 grams.
But, there have been some useful tweaks. To begin with, the newer model comes with a USB-C port for charging purposes. According to Logitech, the newer model also offers about 95 hours of battery, which is higher than 70 hours of the predecessor. The box comes with a charging cable and a grip tape is also provided for the right and left buttons, along with the sides of the mouse.
The features
The best new features that the Superlight 2 offers are inside the mouse. It comes with a Hero 2 sensor and the buttons also have a set of Lightforce switches. According to Logitech, this means that users can enjoy a switch that is durable and fast and it feels good to click it.
There is no doubt that the new switches are definitely worth it because they offer a tactility that was not present in the original. It should also be noted that the design of the feet of Superlight 2 has also been tweaked. The bottom foot on the mouse curves outward.
Software
As mentioned earlier, the Superlight 2 has been given a new Hero 2 sensor and this means it offers you faster tracking and a higher DP ceiling. Likewise, it also supports 2,000Hz polling, while the previous one supported 1,000Hz.
You can use Logitech’s G Hub software to adjust all settings of the Superlight 2. There are settings that allow you to switch to the Superlight 2 from a different mouse. There are also some new settings available that you can use for fine-tuning your mouse.
Gaming performance
As the name indicates, the mouse is light enough, but it still manages to feel substantial and this makes it easy for you to flick when the situation calls for it. The shape will work for every type of hand and you will be able to grip it easily. All the clicks feel impactful and responsive due to the new switches and the Hero 2 sensor ensures that they feel accurate and crisp. Gamers will definitely enjoy their experience due to the new additions, but it also depends on what model they are switching from.
The Verdict
The Superlight was already great and now Logitech has decided to introduce a no-frills update in the form of G Pro X Superlight 2. They have added just enough features to ensure the mouse is able to compete in a crowded market.
