One of the few manufacturers that has been spitting out Android tablets consistently is none other than Lenovo. As for the Tab M11, it is a mid-budget one that was unveiled in January at CES.
Design and build
There are several options offered in the Lenovo Tab M11. For instance, you can get the LTE version that allows you to put a SIM card in, or you can get the Wi-Fi version. Likewise, you can get one that comes with a charger, or without it. In fact, there is also an option for getting one that comes with a snap-on folio case that can also become a table stand. No matter which option you go with, the tablet is still 11-inches and has semi-thin screen edges.
The tablet is well-built and comes with matte metal surfaces, along with three buttons in a corner for power and volume. The tablet weighs around 465g and is about 7mm thick. Its edges are reasonably rounded, which makes it easy to hold. The tablet is certainly not expensive or exclusive and this becomes obvious when you look at the screen and performance.
Specs and performance
The Mediatek Helio G88 is used for powering the Tab M11, which had been launched in 2021 and it comes with six slower and two faster processor cores. There is an ARM graphics circuit Mali-G52 and 4GB of RAM, along with low storage of 12GB. This makes it a good option if you are looking for a tablet to perform simple tasks. It is generally good for the purpose of web browsing.
Opera is pre-installed in the tablet as the default browser and it is well-optimized and easy to use. But, since the RAM is scarce, opening too many tabs will slow down the tablet. If you open too many picture elements, or run multiple pages, the slowness can be quite noticeable. You cannot play games that have 3D graphics either.
Screen and speakers
For the 11-inch screen, Lenovo has opted for an IPS panel that has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and 1920×1200 pixels. This is exactly what you would expect from a budget tablet. While the tablet looks good from the front, it does seem to have some color balance issues. The screen is good for streaming movies, but does not offer HDR support. It is a much better option for reading text and you can scroll long documents and web pages easily, thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate.
The blue light filter is also a good one and there is also a reading mode that proves to be quite effective. There are four small speakers on the tablet, two each on the short side and they provide detailed and clean sound with good stereo, as long as you hold the tablet horizontally. But, you cannot expect them to provide a rich sound, given that their output power is 1W each.
The Verdict
Given the price tag, the Lenovo M11 can prove to be a positive option in various ways because it is well-built and actually feels more luxurious than you would expect it to.
