Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 – Review

This is not the first time that Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 has made a foray in the world of true wireless and its attempts have varied between very good to a tad disappointing. The specifications show that Melomania M100 is the most ambitious and advanced effort of the company, as it comes with several additions. But, there is also a great deal of competition in the same category.

Design

The M100 are available in black, or white colors and have good build quality. They do not feel cheap and offer you a comfortable fit, as there are three silicon ear-tips as well as two memory foam ear-tips that can help you find the best fit.

The slim and petite charging case is also handy because you can easily keep it in your pocket. A magnetic snap locks your earphones in. The earphones also come with touch controls and they function properly without any issues, as seen in the Melomania Touch.

Features

The feature list of the Melomania M100 is undoubtedly impressive. The wireless earphones offer you adaptive Hybrid ANC (active noise-cancellation) as well as Snapdragon Sound support. Plus, you can also get voice control, app support and Class AB audio amplification. You will have no complaints about the noise-cancellation, as it can thin out external sounds quite effectively. If you opt for the transparency mode, it lets sound in and lets you have a conversation, even with the earphones on.

You can adjust the settings of the transparency mode in the app from High, Voice Focus and Low. You can enjoy awareness of surroundings and good clarity.

Performance

In terms of wireless performance, you will find that the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 come with a Bluetooth 5.3 connection with AAC, SBC, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive. You can enjoy reasonably strong performance and it is quite impressive. You will also find the call quality to be quite decent. While true wireless earphones do not usually do so well in terms of calls, the Melomania M100 stand out because they actually are good.

A new app has been developed to support Melomania M100 and it is quite well presented and comes laced with features. You can choose from audio presets, or even devise your own custom EQ. You can also enable auto-play and select the touch controls you want to activate. The app is easy to use and clear, which makes it easily accessible.

As far as audio quality is concerned, the Melomania M100 have an expansive and wide soundstage and the music is delivered with plenty of energy and zest. You will not have any complaints about sound clarity either.

Battery Life

If you activate ANC, the Melomania M100 give you 10 hours of battery life and deactivating can give them a life of 16 hours. You can get 33 hours from the case with ANC and 52 hours without it. The case comes with Qi wireless charging support and a 10 minute charge can give you a battery life of two hours.
