A huge range of headsets have been introduced by Logitech for gamers. Each of them is designed to tick a different box. The Logitech G435 is very lightweight, developed primarily for people who do not want to feel like they are wearing anything during gaming.
Design and Features
A good-looking headset, the G435 is made completely of plastic and also has some fabric elements to add character. You can get it in black and yellow accents, a blue and pink model, or a pale blue and white combination. In every case, the silhouette is a slick one, as soft fabric covers the headband, while each ear cup has an exposed wire. The arm of the headband splits the ear cups down the middle and you can extend this to suit the size of your head.
The same fabric is used to cover the cushions, while the rest is plastic. While this helps keeps it light, the plastic does not give the premium touch. There is a lot of flex and even a bit of creaking, but nothing too noticeable. USB-C is used for charging and it delivers a battery life of 18 hours. But, the design means that it does not have a microphone. Instead, it has a dual-mic beamforming system and this keeps the design interesting to use and clean.
Given the price, the Logitech G435 does not have any noise cancelling, but it does offer controls in button form. These include a power and volume button.
Sound and Microphone
In terms of sound, the G435 is quite a capable headset because it offers plenty of detail. It is also an excellent device for casual play. Comfort does not have a direct impact on sound quality. But it does allow you to listen for longer periods without feeling fatigue, something the lightweight G435 offers. It does lack in terms of power and bass, but that is to be expected, given the price. It uses 40mm drivers that do a good enough job, but cannot compete with more expensive devices.
The microphone is solid for a beamforming array, but it cannot compete with a traditional microphone because your voice echoes. As far as connectivity is concerned, you will find it very simple, as it includes a dongle. If you prefer not to do that, you can also go with Bluetooth. However, if you are wondering, the former delivers better performance when it comes to response time and range alike.
The Verdict
If you want a headset that is light as a feather and also very comfortable without having to spend more than $100, then you cannot go wrong with the Logitech G435. The sound quality is certainly not the best in class and that is understood because of its price. But, it is a safe option for everyone who wants to use a headset for a long period of time comfortably and get decent performance.
