When it comes to Bluetooth headphones, Monoprice offers plenty of options. It has now come up with its most expensive wireless device. Does that make it the company’s best?
Design
In terms of looks, Monoprice’s devices have never been too eye-catching and the same holds true for the BT-600 ANC. They boast a low-key design, especially when you consider the black and grey finish. Regardless, it is focused more on function rather than looks. The level of comfort that you will enjoy, thanks to the headphones is certainly impressive. They come with soft padding and your ears will not feel cramped at all.
The build quality is also decent. They come with a collapsible design, which makes it easy for transport purposes, especially because of the compact carry case. There are both touch controls and physical buttons that you will find on the headphones. The buttons do feel a bit cheap, but they give a response when you click them. The right earcup is where you will find the touch controls, which are highly responsive.
Features
While the Monoprice BT-600 ANC do not come with a lot of features, they do offer hybrid ANC, high-quality Bluetooth streaming codecs and an Ambient sound mode. They also offer good noise cancellation. At default volumes, you will notice that the sound is actually quite loud. Therefore, when you turn on the ANC, you will not feel as if sound has taken a backseat. As for the Ambient sound mode, it may not be the clearest, but it does give you increased awareness.
You can enjoy Bluetooth 5 connectivity with AAC, SBC and aptX HD support. They also have acceptable performance, though it is not as good as the ANC. One area where the headphones do face some issues is the call quality. This is because more sounds get in, so those listening to you will find it a bit hard to hear. As far as battery is concerned, Monoprice claims to offer a battery life of 40 hours when you turn ANC off and 24 hours when you turn it on.
Sound Quality
The Dual Driver model is capable of delivering a rich and warm sound, but the BT-600 ANC ensures that it remains detailed and clear at all times. The Monoprice headphones are able to deliver a crisp performance that many of its competitors are unable to match. However, they are a bit coarse and lack the fidelity and finesse of some of its rivals.
Rather than a natural sound, you will notice that the Monoprice BT-600ANC deliver a more processed sound. They do focus more on the high frequencies and lack the sharpness and clarity you expect from them at this price.
The Verdict
If you are looking for headphones that offer strong noise cancellation and also deliver a good sound, then you cannot go wrong with the Monoprice BT-600ANC. They deliver great noise-cancellation at a very low price and deliver decent sound as compared to other similar models in the market.
