The GameSir G8 Plus is a mobile phone game controller that is quite similar to the GameSir G8 Galileo. However, it comes with Bluetooth rather than USB-C connectivity. It means that the controller requires power to operate, but wireless connectivity transforms it into a portable device controller than just a mobile phone game controller. Not only can it worth with both Android and iOS, but also with Nintendo Switch. It can also function as a generic wired or Bluetooth game controller for your PC.
Design
The GameSir G8 Plus is essentially a simple expanding mechanism that boasts two halves of a generic console controller. Considering that there is no USB-C plug for centering the device, it is natural to wonder about its stability. However, there is nothing to worry about because the robust rubberized grips and the wide bridge are enough to clamp any device securely.
You do have the option of removing the plates of the control sections and this gives you a way of switching out the analogue sticks and the controls. Three analogue sticks have been provided with the controller in different shapes and you can change them as per your preference. Since the controller is also Switch-friendly, you can also swap around the A, B, Y and X buttons. The GameSir app, which is free to download, also gives you a remapping option.
It is essential to remember that the GameSir G8 Plus weighs 314g and is made of solidly-built plastic, so it is a bit heavier. Plus, it also comes with a 1000mAh battery to add to the weight. The control layout as well as the ergonomics are what Xbox gamers are accustomed to. On the rear, you will find a pair of mappable buttons included. There is no 3.5mm audio jack, so a Bluetooth device will have to be added if you want proper audio.
A USB-C port is available, along with a pairing button, but that is only for charging the controller. Since it offers Bluetooth connectivity, you can remove your device from the clamp and continue using it.

The trigger buttons are grippy and good for all kinds of games. As for the D-pad, it is also clicky and sturdy. Switching between platforms is a tad difficult, but once you have connected, switching between platforms is quite easy. Since GameSir has opted to include its own haptic motors, you will be able to enjoy immersive gaming.
The Verdict
The GameSir G8 plus offers you top-notch controls for your Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch devices and all for a reasonable price tag. It might not be very portable, but it is a sturdy and solid device.
