Whatsapp continues to experiment with the available features by expanding them to the next level. The app is soon to enable the users to hide media files shared in chats from the photo gallery of their smartphones. Earlier, Whatsapp allowed a small number of users to share large files up to 2GB through Whatsapp. Here, it’s worth mentioning that many electronic mail platforms do not allow users to share large file sizes, even Gmail does not let users share file sizes more than 25MB.Â
But now, WhatsApp has spotted a new feature that will dovetail extremely well with users willing to share larger files through the app. The company plans to add a feature that will enable users to monitor how much time a document takes to transfer fully through the app. The upcoming new feature will be available in the latest beta version for iOS, Android, and Web of Whatsapp. It will show the timeframe of the arrival of a shared file, allowing you to know when the document is accessible.Â
Whatsapp already made the desktop version of the Estimated Time Arrival monitor (ETA) feature available in March, whereas iOS and Android beta versions have just received it. While several prominent apps are likely to beta test new features with a limited segment of users to find out if they take could off at all, the ETA available on the desktop makes it a matter of time unless Whatsapp’s mobile versions receive it.Â
There may be some changes to sharing file sizes in the future and establishing a way to monitor ETA files. So most probably, users will have to wait and watch what’s next. Apart from this, Whatsapp also made an entry in the headlines for updating itself to make new changes or eliminate some old ones.Â
Before finalizing any changes, the instant messaging app offers a small number of beta users for testing the compatibility before making it available to the public. Recently, it has added features to media visibility in disappearing messages and a drawing editor for Android.
Whatsapp now automatically turns off the media visibility option for disappearing Whatsapp chats on Android devices, allowing users to view media in their photo gallery. Previously, the app would save all the media files in the gallery by default. The new update enables you to change the settings and manually do it. It will help users ensure an enhanced privacy experience while using disappearing messages and keep media more private in the disappearing chats.Â
Whatsapp has also decided to roll out the same modification on iOS, which automatically turns off the Save to Camera Roll option for disappearing chats. Consequently, Whatsapp does not automatically save images, videos, documents, or other media in your camera roll with general settings enabled.Â
Users can save media in disappearing chat manually. If you have Whatsapp on the iOS platform, there are typically no restrictions to storing media in your device’s gallery. The modifications are available to all users, whether they have beta or public versions.
