Sony PlayStation VR2 Experiences Delayed Launch

Sony PlayStation will not release its VR2 headset until 2023. The industry experts say PS VR2 details will be made public at a considerable pace. The company unveiled its technical specifications and Horizon Call of Mountain, the first game present in the development to use the Play Station VR2 headset a few months ago. Sony released its new virtual reality glasses last year, which allowed some developers to play with them.

Speculations were in the air that Sony would release PS VR2 this year, though the company did not make any commitment to anything about it yet. Recently, Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, took to Twitter to diminish this optimism about the release date prediction in the following year. He says that Sony will not release PlayStation VR2 before next year. It means the company might have scheduled to sell the VR headset in the following year, though it did not turn up. 

Factually, an industry expert initially publicized the delay of the virtual reality headgear, which could also affect Apple. It strongly suggests that PS VR2 will not come until next year. It is still vague since Sony hasn’t released any official statement, so players will have to wait for more details from the firm on when the PlayStation VR2 headgear will be available.

The PS VR2 has a frequency of 90 to 120 Hz. With the resolution of 2000×2040 in each eye, the gadget will be able to play a 4k video. The original PS VR was released in late 2016 and is not a new gadget now. The company finally unveiled its plans to launch the second version of PlayStation VR this January and revealed the design a month later. It is worth mentioning that the company never committed to a specific date for launching the PlayStation VR2, though many people assumed that it might come out sometime in 2022. 

According to Ross Young, the PlayStation VR2 will release next year. Nobody is sure what caused the delay in the headgear. It is perhaps not the delay, and the company has originally targeted the release in 2023, though it might miss the holiday season when sales are usually on the hike.

Sony proclaimed a significant rework of the PlayStation Plus service. This online service will include additional tiers and bring a collection of games. Users can download these games and play them. 

PlayStation Plus Essential will be the first tier. It is the same as the PlayStation Plus service launched recently. The first tier comprises the same benefits like online multiplayer access, discounts, cloud saves, and two-monthly downloadable games. 

The online service will have similar pricing, allowing the users to avail of the service by paying $10 every month. Players can also obtain a quarterly subscription for $25 or a yearly subscription for $60. The second tier is PlayStation Plus Extra which has all the benefits of the Essential option and access to a catalog of PS4 and 400 PS4. The PlayStation Plus Premium is the most expensive tier that includes all benefits of Essential and Extra and 340 titles to the collection of games.
