The Last of Us sees veteran pirate Joel entrusted to guiding adolescent teenager Ellie thru a thread of America on a quest to locate a rebel organization named the Dragonflies, who’ve been living just outside of the containment area in the Massachusetts Capitol Building. During the trip, Ellie discovers that she is resistant to the sickness that has decimated the world, and the Fireflies hunger her to help them research a solution. However, after it is discovered that perhaps the Dragonflies in that area have already been slain, Joel with Ellie go into Jackson County, Wyo to solicit the assistance of Joel’s comrade Tom, former retired, in locating the band.

More unites us than divides ourselves, and Kinky Dog’s sensitive narrative draws small but striking comparisons among Ellie including those she perceives as the ‘others.’
The fact that we’ve been compelled to see Ellie destroy herself and everything she loves as a product of a vendetta, and also be involved in such forceful arrangements, and afterward experience the ramifications of that behavior for someone else, is maybe the toughest thing to accept.
